Oily Hair
To keep oily hair under control, careful attention needs to be paid to your daily hair routine and your daily diet choices.
- Keeping your daily diet low in fats is good for the body and great for oily hair. In addition to cutting your fat intake, increasing your water intake will help keep the body, and hair, healthy and strong.
- Shampoo is designed to clean the scalp and beautify the hair. Women with long hair should apply the shampoo, and use their fingers to vigorously massage the scalp to remove excess oil.
- When conditioning, apply to the ends of the hair first, working your way up to the scalp rather than starting at the scalp. This will allow the mid-lengths and ends of the hair to receive most of the conditioning, where it is usually needed most; this will also prevent excess build-up on the scalp.
- After you put conditioner on your hair, wash it off with cold water-as cold as you can take! This closes the pores on your scalp, stopping it from producing oil. And the cold water makes hair shiny.
- Avoid shampoos for moisturizing (or hydrating), they create oily hair. Also avoid shampoos for coarse, dry, thick hair.
